Picture a town, way out in the desert of the middle of nowhere. It’s a boom town and right now it’s in a down time. But the work continues day and night. There are about 8,000 families living in this town. Enough people to keep a few schools operating and plenty of car repair shops. And just enough people to mask a significantly large meth operation.

A new initiative intends to place 30 homeless families in apartments or houses in 30 days. The pilot program will provide financial rental assistance for six months, counseling and intervention with landlords to try to get families currently in shelters into homes and make room in shelters for 30 more families.
